Rebuilt Eico 145A

Fully Restored Eico 145A Signal Tracer video

Before rebuild began

Dents, scraps, and stains on the front panel. Note the 6AQ5 tube’s tip is broken off causing complete loss of vacuum turning the Barium White at the top of the tube. Yellow wire not routed as it should and a Bent chassis.

Restoration stages

Fixed bend in chassis. The chassis was sanded then painted with Rustolium Metallic Nickel Satin paint (Walmart). All tubes sockets were replaced with new tube sockets, new mounting hardware and reuse of original multi capacitor can. that tested quite satisfactory. The speaker grill was pushed inward and there was no protection for the speaker. I added a piece of perforated aluminum between the speaker and the speaker grille (look closely and you can see the perforated aluminum around the corners of the speaker). The speaker was tested and found to be in perfect working order. new 2 blade polarized power cord replaced the original power cord (AC HOT is switched). Over 95% of old fixed resistors and disc caps were replaced with new fixed resistors, disc caps. All new wiring replaced the original wiring.  Dents in the front panel were hammered flat from the rear onto a piece of wood to prevent damage to the front side of the panel. The panel was then thoroughly cleaned.
